01Our commitment
We want InspectorWho to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the website, web app and mobile apps.
02What we do
- a “skip to content” link and a logical heading structure on every page;
- full keyboard navigation, with visible focus;
- text alternatives for images and charts, and text labels alongside colour in grade charts;
- text that can be resized to 200% without loss of content, and layouts that work on small screens;
- support for your device's reduced-motion setting, which turns off animations; and
- light and dark themes in the web app.
03Known limitations
- Interactive maps are visual. The same information is available in lists and tables on the relevant pages.
- Original Ofsted reports are PDFs produced by Ofsted, and their accessibility depends on Ofsted. We show the text of each report as accessible HTML.
- Some charts may be difficult to interpret with a screen reader. We are adding tabular alternatives.
